Audience Offers Voice Technology for PCs

Voice and audio processing solutions provider Audience said it is diversifying its product offerings and is unveiling its earSmart Advanced Voice technology for PCs at the Computex 2013 show in Taipei.

The first ultra-portable PCs to ship with Audience earSmart technology are the Dell Vostro 5460 and 5560, which will feature the Audience earSmart eS305 Advanced Voice processor.

The earSmart eS305 analyzes the sound environment and identifies and enhances the voice signal while suppressing background noise. The earSmart eS305 also features Audience Automatic Speech Recognition Assist technology, a set of hardware-accelerated algorithms that isolate the primary voice to help improve the accuracy of speech-enabled applications in the presence of surrounding environmental noise.

"With our entrance into the PC segment, Audience is focused on advancing voice interface across exciting new form factors such as convertible and detachable Ultrabooks," said Robert Schoenfield, vice president of marketing and business development at Audience, in a statement. "With this development, Audience is executing on our strategy to expand into new markets and collaborate with top PC OEMs and ODMs to deliver an exceptional voice experience."
