AT&T Opens a Drive Studio for Research into In-Car Systems

VoiceBox Technologies, a provider of natural language technology, will have its voice applications featured in the AT&T Drive Studio, a dedicated facility for connected car innovation and research.

"The sky's the limit in the Drive Studio," said Chris Penrose, senior vice president of emerging devices at AT&T Mobility, in a statement. "Speech control is absolutely critical to a safe driving experience. We're excited to work with an industry innovator like VoiceBox to unlock the power of infotainment and connectivity in the car."

VoiceBox's patented Context Management allows its applications to break the traditional one-question-one-answer voice search paradigm to create a natural, conversational experience. The company has developed products that ship on millions of cars around the world from Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Renault, and Mazda, among other manufacturers.
