Acapela Group Enriches Its Linux Offer

MONS, Belgium and TOULOUSE, France - Acapela Group released its Linux-made applications for voice synthesis technology in the telecom, mobility and automotive industries. Acapela Telecom, Acapela Mobility and Acapela On Board make it possible to deploy speech synthesis to a large number of Linux-made applications.

Gartner Group estimates that Linux should represent 20 percent of the Server OS market turnover in 2007, meaning 10 billion USD, rising from 12 percent in 2003.
This turnaround touches mainly application servers today but also targets job-specific applications, application integration solutions and also mobile and embedded solutions.

By developing its Linux offer, Acapela allows deployment of natural language interfaces for many different applications and services in 22 languages and over 50 voices: voice portals, unified messaging, call centers, talking Web, accessibility tools, and onboard navigation systems.

Acapela Telecom: Multilingual and multi-canal speech engine transforming text into speech, 24/7. Acapela Telecom voice enables numerous contact centers, voice portals, unified messaging services, email reading, directories and reverse directories, auto attendants, etc.

Acapela Mobility: Multilingual speech recognition and text-to-speech components for mobile applications. Acapela Mobility can be integrated into mobile phones, PDAs, etc. to speech enable mobile companions for hands/eyes free navigation, content reading, voice dialing, data collection, assistive tools, etc.

Acapela on Board: Acapela On Board is a compact version of Acapela speech solutions. Without taking their eyes off the road or hands off the wheel, the vocalization of any written text allows drivers to: read e-mails, navigate, use vocal command, create media centers, use on board diagnostic tools, etc.
