BayPackets Announces New VP of Marketing

FREMONT, CA - BayPackets Inc., a provider of voice and data solutions for wireless, wireline and cable operators, announced that it has appointed Amol Joshi as vice president of marketing. Joshi will be responsible for BayPackets' overall corporate and product marketing, technology and distribution partnerships and the company's international expansion activities. Joshi's appointment rounds out the BayPackets' executive team, which includes seasoned executives from AT&T, Cisco, Lucent, Motorola, SBC and Verizon, among others. Joshi brings significant experience and success in global marketing and sales within the telecommunications industry and is widely recognized as an industry expert on the enhanced voice services market. At BayPackets, he will be focused on helping service providers profitably expand their business by utilizing BayPackets' technology to bring integrated and bundled services to their customers. "Amol has a proven track record of identifying and bringing to market compelling solutions for the carrier market," said Ken Epps, president and chief executive officer at BayPackets. "His experience, network and technical expertise in the voice services industry will be invaluable resources for BayPackets as we refine our product offering, identify and pursue key partnerships and expand our sales and marketing efforts in North America, Europe and Asia. I am delighted to have him on board." Before joining BayPackets, Joshi was a co-founder and vice president of sales and marketing at BeVocal Inc. During his four-year tenure at BeVocal, Joshi pioneered the introduction of voice portals and voice-activated dialing services with major wireless and wireline carriers. He also defined and implemented the sales and marketing strategy for the company's line of products, and helped BeVocal garner the leading market share for VoiceXML platforms and applications in the North American carrier market. Joshi continues to serve as a marketing advisor to BeVocal. Prior to BeVocal, Joshi served as the Asia sales manager for Brooktrout Technology, the director of business development in the Asia Pacific region for Netpower and as a DSP research engineer at Panasonic headquarters in Osaka, Japan. Joshi graduated from Dartmouth College with an MBA and a master's degree in Engineering Sciences. He was a President's Scholar at Georgia Tech, where he received a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and graduated with highest honors.
