Clarity Announces Changes to Management Team

TROY, MI - Clarity LLC (www.clarityco.com) announced that it added wireless industry veteran senior sales executive David H. Brown to its management team and promoted Fred Nussbaum to head its newly created division, ClarityLabs. "Clarity is committed to its team approach and has attracted the most successful and dedicated team of professionals in this industry," said Raymond Gunn, president and chief executive officer of Clarity. Clarity is in position with its award winning technology, current customer base and pipeline of revenue- generating opportunities to successfully target the entire voice-user interface market. As executive vice president for both sales and marketing, Nussbaum has put Clarity on a path to achieve its goal of becoming the hands-free and voice recognition industry leader. In addition to his new responsibilities as president of ClarityLabs, Nussbaum will retain his position as executive vice president of Clarity. "I look forward to increasing my efforts around business development and marketing, specifically engaging Clarity in many new strategic relationships," said Nussbaum. "In addition, I will focus on turning up the level of support to Clarity's current world-class partners and taking Clarity to the next level as 'the recognized standard' for audio input." "'Wireless' represents the single largest market opportunity for Clarity's CVC technology as there is an urgent need for a premium solution to enable mobile handsets and Bluetooth wireless devices to perform in noisy environments," said Gunn. "Dave Brown immediately brings to Clarity 10 years of wireless domain knowledge as well as more than eight years in the automotive space. His experience will further Clarity's leadership stake in the wireless automotive market." Brown was most recently executive vice president of Brightpoint, Inc. a $1.5 billion wireless sales distributor/logistics service provider to telecommunications companies. He held senior sales positions at Brightpoint including executive vice president of sales and marketing and executive vice president of the logistic services division. At Nokia, the world's largest wireless phone manufacturer, Brown was the sales director for U.S. distribution and earlier with Nokia served as director of automotive sales. "I am impressed with Clarity's technology, design wins and outstanding engineering staff. The sales, engineering and management team that is currently in place is the best in this field and I am looking forward to adding depth and breadth to the team and its ability to execute," said Brown. "I have watched Clarity closely over the last year, from my wireless market perspective, watching the direction of wireless protocols unfold. I am certain that Clarity can successfully penetrate the wireless market via handset manufacturers, Clarity's carriers and component suppliers." "Norm Torrey has been Clarity's top selling executive and has focused on many new and emerging markets. These markets are now more developed, growing and producing significant revenue," noted Gunn. This restructuring of the sales team is a great opportunity to have Norm dig deep into the channels already using CVC while Dave, Fred and the rest of the sales team work to further Clarity's market saturation." Torrey will manage worldwide sales for non-wireless opportunities utilizing the selling expertise of Clarity's European, Japanese and West Coast sales representatives.
