Credo Adds An Amazon Alexa Skill

CREDO has launched an Amazon Alexa skill that lets users get the latest news and calls to action from the CREDO blog with the voice command "Alexa, ask CREDO for the latest news." Alexa reads the headlines and can text message links to the blog posts for further reading. The skill is available for free and works on Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap and Fire TV.

To launch the Alexa skill, CREDO partnered with Witlingo, a startup that specializes in delivering products and solutions on emerging voice- and text-based conversational platforms. Ahmed Bouzid, co-founder and CEO of Witlingo, proposed the skill as a way to boost progressive awareness and activism.

"I've felt troubled by what is happening to our country, and I wanted to help in any way that I could," Bouzid said in a statement. "I am a long-time fan of CREDO and believe that we can bolster progressive causes by making CREDO news as accessible as possible. The most important headlines are now a voice command away."

"We are thrilled to deliver an Alexa skill that helps people stay on top of breaking events and political action," said Ray Morris, CEO at CREDO, in a statement. "Voice assistants like Alexa provide CREDO with an opportunity to rise above all the noise and clutter of the digital world. We thank Ahmed and the talented team at Witlingo for helping us get our message out to the public."
