MessageBroadcast Launches Automated Survey System for NebDoctors of Nevada

NebDoctors of Nevada, provider of Nebulizers (pediatric respiratory products), has chosen MessageBroadcast’s automated survey solution to satisfy Medicare accreditation and compliance requirements.

Surveys are delivered via telephone, allowing patients to respond simply by touch-tone. The survey also allows the patient to record their comments, suggestions and feedback about NebMed’s products and services. Patient responses are reported back to NebDoctors in real time, along with a digital voice copy of all voice messages.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued new quality standards to prevent fraud and promote quality care for Medicare recipients. The new federal law that went into effect on October 1, requires suppliers of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) to periodically survey their patients to ensure quality service. To qualify for Medicare reimbursement, providers must receive accreditation from a recognized CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) authority such as Community Health Accreditation Program or the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

MessageBroadcast assists companies like NebDoctors to meet Medicare requirements, thereby supporting one of the core directives of President Obama’s Healthcare Reform efforts, medical cost reduction. According to Joe Myers, vice president of NebDoctors Nevada, "MessageBroadcast has allowed us to economically survey our customers in order to meet Medicare CHAP’s (Community Health Accreditation Program) accreditation. The cost and time required to do live phone surveys or send mailers is expensive and time consuming for a small company like ours. We recently received an accommodation from our local CHAP’s inspector for going above and beyond their accreditation requirements."

Automated survey solutions would be applicable to DME (Durable Medical Equipment) & Hospitals. Meyers stated, "While NebDoctors bills a small number of codes to Medicare, there are big DME companies and hospitals that bill hundreds of different codes. MessageBroadcast could tailor surveys for each billing code and make it easy to receive feedback for each product they dispense or service they provide." Additionally, automated surveys allow NebDoctors to run reports based on billed HCPCS codes (Healthcare Common Procedure Codes).
