Nuance Improves Speech Recognition in PowerScribe 360

Nuance Communications has announced significant speech recognition accuracy and workflow enhancements to the PowerScribe 360 platform for radiology reporting.

This latest version of PowerScribe 360 platform is built using the same technology as Dragon Medical 12 and includes the automated integration of DICOM Structured Report data, such as radiation dose, ultrasound measurements, and other important clinical information. In addition, new features make it easier for radiologists to monitor and manage their workloads, and expand current mobile capabilities so that referring clinicians are able to review reports on-the-go.

The PowerScribe 360 platform also includes the following:

  • A standardized reporting structure;
  • The combination of advanced medical speech recognition, clinical language understanding, and flexible templating;
  • Integrated search functionality that enables data mining of reports; and
  • Analytics tools to help radiologists track key performance and quality metrics to improve patient outcomes.

"We're focused on helping radiologists and all clinicians leverage technology to drive efficiencies and ensure high-quality patient care," said Rodney Hawkins, general manager of diagnostic solutions at Nuance, in a statement.
