ReadSpeaker Updates Its TextAid Solution
ReadSpeaker has added features to its TextAid text-to-speech (TTS) solution for struggling readers, making it easier for schools and individuals to use the bimodal presentation of simultaneous text and audio. Among the additions are one-click Web reading, speech-enabled scanned documents, downloadable audio files, and a more accessible interface.
ReadSpeaker TextAid is a personal, Web-based tool.
"We have listened to the feedback of current users to make it an even more valuable tool for those who struggle to read, for whatever reason," said Steve Moore, general manager of ReadSpeaker North America, in a statement.
New features include the following:
- The TextAid Web Reader: Read Web pages with just a click of a button using a bookmarklet that sits in users' browsers. Just a drag-and-drop installation to the bookmark bar lets the user read Web content at any time.
- The ability to read any scanned document, from handwritten notes to pages of a paperback book.
- The ability to download text as audio filesfor listening anywhere and at any time.
- A whole new user-friendly interface to make ReadSpeaker TextAid even easier to use.
