TikTok Adds Disney TTS Voices

For the recent anniversary of its Disney + streaming platform, Disney is giving users of the TikTok social network the voices of characters from the Disney universe--from Mickey Mouse to Chewbacca-- to narrate their videos.

TikTok in December 2020 added a text-to-speech feature to make the platform more accessible to people with disabilities. Now Disney is helping to expand that capability.

Facebook's Instagram, which trails TikTok in popularity, is playing catch-up, having recently launched its own TTS funtion that allows text in Reels to be read aloud. The tool also allows users to modify their own voices for narrations.
