Google Shuts Down Duplex on the Web

Search giant Google has reportedly shut down its artificial intelligence-powered Duplex on the Web, a set of online services to simplify daily tasks, like ordering food or movie tickets, through automation, to focus on the mobile phone version of the technology.

Google first introduced Duplex on the Web in 2019 to help Android users buy movie tickets and expanded its scope to include other online transactions. With it, consumers could use the Google Assistant to make reservations and online purchases, order food, check in for flights, change passwords, and find discounts.
