iScribeHealth and athenahealth Expand Partnership
iScribeHealth, a healthcare technology company specializing in ambient documentation solutions, has expanded the availability of its AI model to all health practices on athenahealth's nationwide network through Ambient Notes.
Since integrating with athenahealth in 2017, iScribeHealth has supported more than 2,000 clinicians across athenahealth's network and produced millions of clinical encounters across more than 45 specialties. Clinicians participating in the beta program have already used the iScribe model within Ambient Notes for more than 74,000 patient encounters, with measurable reductions in documentation time, faster encounter close rates, and improved billing accuracy.
Early adopters of the Ambient Notes model have reported the following:
- Up to six hours saved per week in documentation time for certain specialties, including orthopedic surgery.
- 18.5 percent increase in same-day encounter close rates in primary care clinics.
Now, all athenahealth customers can access iScribe's patented technology and customizable note output with Ambient Notes directly within athenaOne.
"By embedding our technology directly into athenaOne with Ambient Notes, we're giving clinicians a more natural, human-like note that requires fewer edits and fits seamlessly into their workflow," said Pat Williams, CEO of iScribeHealth, in a statement.
"At athenahealth, we're committed to using AI to eliminate complexity for clinicians," said Chad Dodd, vice president of product management at athenahealth, in a statement. "Our collaboration with iScribeHealth on Ambient Notes is delivering tangible results, and we're excited to make this technology more widely available across our network."
Looking ahead, iScribeHealth plans to release enhancements to its Ambient Notes model, including expanded functionality such as automated voice macros, advanced prompting options, and additional workflow automation.
