General Telecom Deploys Cantata Technology's IMG 1010 VoIP Gateway

- General Telecom, a provider of outsourced switching solutions for telecom carriers worldwide, has deployed the IMG 1010 Integrated Media and Signaling VoIP Gateway from Cantata Technology in its global network.

General Telecom's customized solutions support national and international carriers seeking outsourced solutions on both traditional TDM and next-generation VoIP technology platforms. General Telecom selected Cantata's IMG 1010 due to its routing, transcoding, and integrated SS7 functionality that will allow the company to provide interconnects from one carrier to another from its New York, Los Angeles, and Miami switching centers (PoPs).

Cantata worked closely with BIZI International, one of its valued distribution partners, during the IMG 1010 selection and deployment process at General Telecom.

"After extensive research and evaluation of its competitors, our product development team, in concert with our engineering department, concluded that the powerful and flexible routing functionality of the IMG 1010 would have an immediate revenue-generating impact for our customers," said Sanford L. Duitz, director of operations, General Telecom. "We were equally impressed with the ease of deployment of the IMG 1010 and the responsive customer service and support provided by Cantata. General Telecom fully intends on adding additional IMG 1010 units to the infrastructure in the near future to support our expanding list of services such as VoIP DIDs, hosted IVR, and hosted softswitch functionality."

The IMG 1010 is an integrated media and signaling gateway that provides any-to-any network connectivity, enabling delivery of SIP services into legacy SS7/PRI networks, as well as IP-to-IP transcoding to connect IP networks using different protocols. The IMG 1010 offers a range of network interfaces in a 1U package, allowing service providers to deploy applications across fixed and mobile networks worldwide.
