Telisma is Integrating SVOX Speech Synthesis

PARIS, FRANCE - SVOX, a provider of speech synthesis software and Telisma, one of Europe's players in the field of voice recognition technologies, have announced the signature of a global co-marketing agreement. Telisma's TTS connector, integrated into its real-time distributed platform, now supports the SVOX TTS, thus allowing companies and integrators to acquire ASR-TTS solutions from a single source. "The fact that Telisma's TTS connector is compatible with SAPI 4 makes it extremely easy to integrate TTS which are compatible with this standard. In the case of SVOX's TTS, technical integration of our two solutions takes less than an hour! This is a good illustration of the relevance of this new de facto standard and how easy it is to implement our plug & play systems," explained Mohand Ferhaoui, senior TTS consultant at Telisma. The Telisma-SVOX ASR-TTS solution can also be used to develop multilingual services, a feature which should be much appreciated in certain markets, such as quadrilingual Switzerland, for services with high growth potential, such as tourism and banking. With this partnership, "Telisma is reaffirming its strategy of growth in German-speaking markets. We are very pleased to work with SVOX, a brilliant and extremely dynamic company, whose Directors include renowned people, such as board members of the Silicon Valley Group and of Sony Europe," Loic Gonnet, Telisma's international director told us. "The German market for speech services, an area of huge potential, is on the brink of rapid expansion. Users there are accustomed to voice commands, often found in on-board car systems, such as hands-free traffic information systems. And the fixed and mobile telecommunications market, an area of intense competition, is now looking at developing voice portals. Against this background, and in the absence of a local leader in the field of ASR, the Telisma-SVOX carrier-grade solution should offer the ideal solution to this emerging need." Alexis Fries, chief marketing officer explains: "We share with Telisma a requirement for excellence. With over 15 years of research in prestigious laboratories, we can now offer a high density ASR-TTS solution with very high value added, in particular for telephony based applications in the Telecommunications and Enterprise industries, a key market for speech services." SVOX and Telisma are already working together on a project to develop a voice portal for a mobile telephony operator.
