LiveScribe Rolls Out Wifi Pen in Japan

LiveScribe has announced that its wifi smartpen will be released in Japan this month by Tokyo-based Sourcenext.

The smartpen is the first digital pen to integrate WiFi technology and cloud services, according to the company. It digitizes everything consumers write and hear and automatically sends the collected information to their personal Evernote accounts, where it is securely stored and readily available to search, play back, organize, and share.

To play back the audio, users tap their handwritten notes with their smartpen and the audio will replay from that exact moment in time. Consumers can also play back the audio from their computer, tablet, and smartphone using Evernote. The Livescribe 2GB wifi smartpen stores about 200 hours of audio and approximately 20,000 pages of written notes.
