Aculab Integrates Prosody Media Processing With the Envox 6.2 Communications Development Platform

MILTON KEYNES, U.K. — Aculab integrated its range of Prosody media processing resources with Envox 6.2, the latest version of Envox Worldwide's communications development platform.

Aculab's latest telephony driver enables Envox 6.2 users to integrate Prosody PCI and CompactPCI hardware variants. Prosody S is also available as a media processing resource for use with Envox 6.2. The Aculab telephony driver implements Envox's telephony driver API and provides access to Prosody resources including Group 3 fax and multi-party conferencing.  Prosody can also be used with any Envox-supported text-to-speech (TTS) and automated speech recognition (ASR) engine. Additionally, the Envox media streaming feature, which converts audio media sources (e.g., wav or MP3 files) to Prosody format, is supported in Envox 6 VoiceXML Studio.

Envox 6.2 is a communications development platform with integrated application development and management components for creating voice solutions. Envox 6 allows customers to continue to leverage their investments in legacy hardware, software and solution development, while providing a migration path to new standards and emerging technology, including speech, VoiceXML, VoIP and Web services.

Together, Prosody and Envox 6.2 enable an array of CT-based voice, fax, speech and conferencing applications. These include interactive voice response (IVR), enhanced self-service, automated directory assistance, alerts and notifications, mobile Internet, voice portals, voice-enabled CRM and unified communications. IP protocols such as SIP and a range of E1 and T1 protocols and approvals available from Aculab enable the development of Envox-based voice solutions for global deployment.
