Ai-Logix Set To Release SmartTAP LD

Ai-Logix Inc., a manufacturer of voice processing and telephony recording components, announced the upcoming release of its next generation recording card, the SmartTAP LD.

According to Ai-Logix, the LD series should deliver a solution capable of supporting traditional call recording applications (passive mode) and interactive computer telephony (CT) systems (terminate mode). SmartTAP LD will be available in two models: a 4-port half size and an 8-port full size PCI form factor. The SmartTAP LD are multi-purpose cards that can build small-scale voice logging systems with interactive CT features.

According to Ai-Logix, this makes it well suited for remote dial-in to larger systems, and each channel on the LD series can be software configured. As a result, the board should operate as both a passive tap component for undetected call monitoring, or as an interactive component for IVR, voice messaging and voice mail applications. Working passively, the SmartTAP LD provides non-obtrusive supervision and recording of analog interfaces. Its programmable voltage sensitivity, voltage reversal detection, and loop current reversal detection features should allow greater flexibility to integrate with a larger number of lines and increases accuracy of detecting start/stop events while recording calls. When used in interactive mode (off-hook), it connects directly to a PBX or a central office line and should provide all required line management to answer inbound or generate outbound calls.

"The most exciting feature of this new product is its programmable line termination," said Scott Wooster, director of product management for Ai-Logix. "It allows customers to control inventory costs by stocking one type of card, using it for both passive and interactive applications. The LD completes our SmartWORKS passive product line by fulfilling the industry's demand for a low cost, low density solution." SmartTAP LD is scheduled for release in late August.
