NMS Communications Introduces the CompactPCI Voice Processing, Media Server Platforms

NMS Communications  enhanced its Alliance Generation (AG) family of voice processing platforms with the introduction of the AG 2000C, an analog CompactPCI (cPCI) telephony platform.

Ontario Systems, the technology developer in receivables management solutions for the collections, healthcare and financial services markets, is taking advantage of NMS' new AG 2000C voice processing platform.

"NMS has been an important partner for us as we looked to deliver best-in-class, contact management applications as a key part of our receivables management solutions," said Chris Wright, chief telephony engineer at Ontario Systems. "NMS' new Alliance Generation platform helped us complete our suite of contact management products for our customer base by providing analog capabilities utilizing CompactPCI technology. This is in conjunction with our existing digital CompactPCI capabilities. We couldn't be more pleased with NMS' AG 2000C, and with the design assistance and CompactPCI expertise NMS provided."

"Even as NMS focuses on delivering complete systems, we also continue to develop new first-class system building blocks for the world's leading software solution providers such as Ontario Systems. Our latest addition to the Alliance Generation family demonstrates the rich functionality, capacity, and reliability for which NMS telephony platforms have been known," said Michael Welles, vice president and general manager of NMS' Platforms business. "We are thrilled to have enabled Ontario Systems to quickly and cost-effectively bring viable solutions to its customers."

NMS Communications Unveils High-Density Media Server Platform for Next-Generation Enhanced Services

NMS Communications introduced the Convergence Generation CG 6500C, a platform for PSTN and IP media servers and related applications requiring high density and scalability in service provider and enterprise environments. The CG 6500C is a platform for conferencing, voice portals, next-generation prepaid calling, virtual personal assistants, and voice-activated dialing.

An early CG 6500C user is InfoUSA of Encino, Calif. According to Stuart Scammen, InfoUSA's chief technical officer, "To provide a seamless package of enhanced communications services to our customers, we need all the capabilities that NMS platforms provide. The density of the CG 6500C adds a compelling economic advantage by offering the lowest price for full capabilities supported per T1 trunk that I have seen in the industry."

"We have been very pleased with the performance of the Convergence Generation 6000C platform, and are thrilled we can now deploy an increased number of applications within larger-scale network environments in a quick, cost-effective manner using the CG 6500C," said Ryoji Horisaka PM, NexGen Network Systems; PM, Signaling Systems Business Group, Senior Manager, System Integration Headquarters, NTT Comware. "Our partnership with NMS has enabled us to sharpen our strategic edge in developing and providing carrier-class IP services. Japanese carriers are in the process of deploying IP networks and are seeking applications that will allow them to deliver new revenue-generating services that capitalize on next-generation infrastructure, and NTT Comware will be able to fulfill their needs as they ramp up in this process." "

The design of CG 6500C acknowledges what is central to our customers' success today: rich functionality, unbeatable ROI, and investment protection," said Michael Welles, vice president and general manager of NMS' Platforms business. "The CG 6500C raises the bar on the density, scalability, and power that our platforms are capable of delivering in a single slot. NMS has earned its high standing by bringing customers of our system building blocks even more of what they value, and this introduction once again makes good on that promise."

The CG 6500C platform offers: · High-density trunks (up to 16, software-selectable between T1 and E1), up to 9600 MIPS of more digital signal processor (DSP) power, PICMG 2.16 compatibility. · Support for scalable, high-capacity applications requiring 120 ports or more, including media servers supporting up to 480 ports of IVR and voice over IP gateways with up to 360 ports per slot. · Integrated PSTN interfaces, telephony protocols, comprehensive IVR functionality, full-duplex echo cancellation, speech encoding, fax processing, Ethernet interfaces, packet protocols, low-latency media streaming, and support for the PICMG hot-swap standard.
