Necsy Selects PIKA Technologies' Voice Cards for Advanced Multimedia Contact Center

OTTAWA, CANADA and ITALY - Necsy S.p.A, a provider in the Italian call center market, has selected PIKA Technologies' MM-series analogue and digital E1 ISDN voice cards to enable voice services in Phoenix, an all-in-one server that integrates classical and next-generation communications media in a single scalable system. The PIKA-based Phoenix server will be officially launched at the SMAU tradeshow.

Phoenix provides a help desk and customer care solutions to telecom operators and public utilities throughout Europe. The system is Microsoft Windows-based and integrates traditional means of communications media (phone, fax) and advanced media (Internet, email, IP telephony) into a single environment. Phoenix's scalable architecture makes it suitable for contact centers of any size, and the all-in-one server can integrate within an enterprise's existing IT infrastructure.

"We were looking for an experienced, best-of-breed partner who would be responsive to our technical needs throughout our development and deployment cycles. We found these qualities in PIKA Technologies," said Massimo Cesaro, Director of Engineering, Necsy Call Center Solutions. "Our technical team was impressed with the high-density PIKA Daytona MM-series voice cards, granular application programming interface (PIKA MonteCarlo MM API), and powerful digital signal processing (DSP) functionality. Also the PIKA PrimeNet MM cards, that combine high-density digital network access and voice processing capabilities, impressed us for their abilities and cost-effectiveness. The port from our previous voice card suppliers simply involved writing an adaptation layer between Phoenix and MonteCarlo MM. We are now offering our porting services expertise to other developers who would like to port from the ECTF S.100 API to PIKA cards and API."

Phoenix uses PIKA Daytona MM-series station interface cards and PIKA PrimeNet MM cards to connect to handsets and the European ISDN network. Both the Daytona MM and PrimeNet MM cards have a PCI bus, are H.100 compliant, and have switching and DSP capacity for every channel. These cards represent a scalable and cost effective analog voice card solution for Phoenix.

"We are extremely pleased to be chosen by an industry leader like Necsy," said Maarten Kronenburg, Commercial Manager EMEA, PIKA Technologies Europe BV. "Visionaries like Necsy demonstrate an ability to lead the way with continued advancements in contact center technology. We are all the more pleased with being selected for the Phoenix platform because it turns out that Phoenix is a vehicle to develop really profitable solutions - in a very short period of time."
