Phone-Or and ART Cooperate to Bring Speech Recognition Application to Market; ART to Offer Its Latest smARTspeak XG on 2.5G, 3G Mobile Devices

OR-YEHUDA, ISRAEL, and ATLANTA, GA - Phone-Or Ltd., provider of optical microphone solutions, and ART Advanced Recognition Technologies Inc., a provider of natural human user interface technologies, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will enable the companies to work together to provide an enhanced speech recognition application to the growing telematics market. The collaboration between the two companies will bring together Phone-Or's EverBeam optical microphone for automotive telematics and ART's smARTspeak XG speech recognition solution. "Phone-Or recognizes that speech recognition is the enabler of hands-free applications for automotive telematics and that the microphone is an integral and critical part of any voice-activated application. We, therefore, understand the importance of working with ART in order to bring the best speech recognition solution to the automotive telematics market. ATLANTA, GA - ART Advanced Recognition Technologies Inc. announced that it has ported its latest speech recognition solution, the smARTspeak XG, to the OMAP family of high-performance, ultra-low power application processors from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). Since the smARTspeak XG's embedded software solution was especially designed to provide increasing functionality within the same resource-limited environment, it was well placed to help the OMAP platform address the challenges of running the advanced applications demanded by next-generation mobile phones, smartphones and other mobile Internet appliances. "Mobile device users will enjoy a greater degree of freedom with advanced speech and handwriting recognition such as that provided by ART," said Paul Werp, worldwide director of marketing for TI's OMAP platform.
