BOULDER, CO and PARIS, FRANCE - SandCherry Inc., a developer of media resource and applications broker software for enhanced applications is teaming with European speech recognition software developer Telisma to offer speech solutions worldwide. Merging SandCherry's ability to offer mass deployment of IVR and speech-enabled services with Telisma's scalable automatic speech recognition and dialog software will allow service providers to enjoy the added revenue from speech-enabled services without the burden of a substantial up-front investment. Elements of the relationship include joint integration and certification of SandCherry's SoftServer platform with Telisma's Philsoft speech recognition engine and VXML browser, joint marketing for the combined solution, and SandCherry becoming a Value Added Reseller of Telisma products. Service providers can now deploy a carrier class shared speech infrastructure to deliver a multitude of network-based services such as voice dialing, directory assistance, and voice-driven messaging, and enterprise-based services including customer self service and workforce mobility solutions. SandCherry's SoftServer platform provides the key to integrating enhanced applications with existing services and networks. Its core component - the Intelligent Control Module(tm) (ICM) - offers increased reliability plus the advanced resource accounting, management and integration capabilities required to deploy a highly scalable shared applications and media resource infrastructure. "We share the common vision of usage-based pricing empowering service providers to generate new revenues today through widespread deployment of speech-enabled services without straining capital resources," said Charles Corfield, SandCherry's founder and CEO. "Telisma's world-class speech components and language breadth combined with our SoftServer platform provides a compelling solution worldwide." Telisma's Philsoft recognition engine is the result of over 15 years of R&D that resulted in a product that significantly reduces the amount of processing resources required while providing high quality recognition in noisy environments for the stringent service provider environment. Philsoft continues to incorporate advanced capabilities such as Distributed Speech Recognition (DSR) to meet the evolving needs for multimodal and telematics applications. "Both companies are focused on advancing widespread use of speech-based services," said Laurent Balaine, chairman and CEO of Telisma. "This solution provides leading technology, affordable economics, and support for a wide range of applications, which are key attributes required to achieve mass deployment of speech-based services."
