XRAI Glass Provides Captions for Conversations

U.K. startup XRAI Glass is rolling out a pair of live captioning smart glasses that let deaf people see conversations with a display of live, real-time subtitles right in front of their eyes.

The glasses are paired with users' smartphones and works with an app that turns speech into text displayed on the inside of the lenses for an augmented-reality experience.

The software is still being developed, but it reportedly can already recognize who is speaking and will soon be able to to translate languages, voice tones, accents, and pitch. Users can also label different voices however they want.

XRAI Glass are now recruiting alpha testers to help perfect the software.
