PIKA Technologies Announces EVS Codec Support for its Host Media Processing SDK, HMP-X

PIKA Technologies is excited to announce the availability of EVS codec support (Enhanced Voice Services) as an option with its Host Media Processing software development solution, HMP-X. The EVS codec support will enable mobile carriers to compete with OTT (over-the-top media services) and will also be compatible with the soon to be released, X2 SDK. The EVS codec is a successor to AMR-WB and was standardized by the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project).

The demand for this codec update has come from multiple sources, including Turkey-based omnichannel service platform and PIKA Technologies partner, Define, who is building systems for mobile carriers that can work with the GSM network. Discussions with the company sparked the conversation at PIKA to deliver this update for its HMP-X solution.
