Nexidia Expands Avid Relationship by Powering New PhraseFind for Media Composer

Nexidia, a  provider of media search and speech analytics solutions, today announced greater integration of its patented phonetic dialogue search technology into the latest version of Avid Media Composer.

Avid PhraseFind is a new application that allows users to type a word or phrase and quickly and accurately find any clip where that phrase is spoken. This  application saves time and improves final program quality by finding the right take fast. PhraseFind also saves users money by dramatically reducing logging and transcription costs across all program types.

PhraseFind searches across all media files at once, returns results instantly, and open clips queued precisely to the searched phrase, ready for review and insertion into the timeline. This application is available with the just-released Media Composer 5.5, Symphony 5.5, and NewsCutter 9.5, and currently supports U.S. and U.K. English, Latin American Spanish, Dutch, German, Russian, and French.

“Similar to the ScriptSync application Nexidia powers for Avid, PhraseFind is a streamlined and integrated method for selecting digital content directly within the Media Composer family of products, without requiring a script or transcript,” said Paul Foeckler, vice president for creative professionals at Avid Technology. “This collaboration pushes the boundaries of video and audio search and further illustrates our mutual commitment to customers’ needs to reduce the cost and time of editing while improving their ability to inform and entertain.”

“With PhraseFind, Nexidia is bringing another innovation to the Avid community, as part of our commitment to make instant dialogue search an essential element of editing and managing massive media archives,” said Drew Lanham, Nexidia’s senior vice president of media and entertainment.
