NMS Communications IVR Platforms Selected by Telogic

FRAMINGHAM, MA - System integrator Telogic chose voice platforms from NMS Communications to serve as the heart of its interactive voice response (IVR) system recently installed in the 12 million subscriber network of AIS, an operator in Thailand. AIS has already deployed several services using the IVR system, including voice mail for mobile subscribers and various information retrieval audiotext services. "With a subscriber base of more than 12 million, AIS needs a reliable and scalable system to provide seamless and satisfactory service to its subscribers," said Wichian Mektrakarn, AIS' executive vice president of Network operations "The Telogic IVR system has been operational in our network for six months now. We are satisfied with the system design, performance, and cost effectiveness of Telogic IVR system." Telogic's IVR solution is based on NMS' system building blocks. NMS provides a messaging platform that offers capability for mixed media types to service a range of voice and signaling applications and hardware for a variety of Signaling System 7 (SS7) applications. SS7 is often used as the signaling protocol for voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) gateway applications, wireless infrastructure and enhanced services such as Telogic's IVR solution. "AIS is a successful operator that is enjoying rapid subscriber growth, and having a system that can scale with that growth was crucial to our securing their IVR system business," said Low Kim Seng, Telogic's managing director. "NMS's high density telephony products provide both the cost effectiveness and the high performance that are essential in meeting AIS's stringent system requirements. The system has the capacity to expand to 384 E1's per node. Only NMS could deliver the density we needed for such a scalable, cost-effective solution."
