TEL-AVIV, Israel- Cellcom, Israel's largest mobile operator is taking another step towards deploying advanced speech driven public services by launching a customer service application with information for roamers in four languages - English, Hebrew, Russian and Arabic. The service is deployed on a single server, containing telephony interface and NSC speech recognition boards, running the application itself on its free CPU.

Cellcom 18 months ago first implemented a speech- based corporate address book for its 4500 employees.

Mr. Yaron Horowitz, VP of customer service, Cellcom said, "This new service is part of Cellcom's efforts to continuously improve customer service and to provide its subscribers with much more convenient and user-friendly interfaces. Cellcom will continue to use state-of-the-art technologies to meet its customer's needs."
