RadNet Deploys Nuance PowerScribe 360

RadNet, the largest provider of outpatient imaging in the country, will deploy PowerScribe 360 from Nuance Communications in its 250 imaging centers and 27 practices across the United States to produce more than 3.6 million radiology reports each year.

RadNet selected Nuance PowerScribe 360 to create a more streamlined approach to documentation, reduce turn-around times for reporting, and improve clinician satisfaction.

"We set an internal goal of achieving 100 percent adoption within one year in order to improve data quality, streamline workflows, and improve cost efficiencies," said Ranjan Jayanathan, chief information officer at RadNet, in a statement. "We chose Nuance as our long-term partner and have confidence that its industry-leading speech recognition-based reporting solution will help us accomplish our goals. Our confidence was reinforced after our first site had a smooth implementation, going live within 30 days."

Nuance continues to see consistent customer adoption of PowerScribe 360, adding more than 100 facilities to the latest version of the platform since its launch in December. Nuance first introduced the PowerScribe product in November 2010.

"We continue to see increasing demand for PowerScribe 360 to streamline the accuracy and delivery of quality reports as customers transition from a volume-based payment model to one that is more patient-focused and based on quality of care," said Rodney Hawkins, general manager of diagnostic solutions at Nuance, in a statement.

PowerScribe 360 uses Nuance's latest and most advanced speech recognition engine to drive faster, more accurate reporting and improve communication between radiologists and referring physicians.
